We have interviewed SuperWellness associate Katarina Cepinova to get the low down on moving from Business Account Management into corporate nutrition, and her favourite films!
Could you tell us a little bit about your background before becoming a nutrition professional?
Having completed my first class Master of Science (MSc) degree in International Business Management in Oxford I embarked on a long term career in Business Account Management growing relationships and revenues within different industries including Health, Food and Aromatherapy.
How did you come to be interested in nutrition and go on to study for your qualification?
Working extremely long hours with an extensive travel for over 12 years had a detrimental effect on my health and wellbeing. I suffered with digestive complaints, intolerances, adrenal exhaustion low energy and poor sleep. Medical professionals were not able to provide help, guidance nor answers so I started to research and read more about nutrition as a way of optimizing my own health, which in turn I did. I became more interested in the subject and wanted to learn more on how I could help others to do the same.
What do you love most about your job now?
My passion is to help my clients on making more sense of Nutrition in small manageable bite sizes. I believe in empowering others making manageable small steps every day, achieving giant leaps towards their healthy future. It is very rewarding to see the clients’ transformation, knowing that you help them to achieve their personal health & wellbeing goals.
What is your favourite film (or films)?
I love Sound of Music. It is the first movie I saw when I moved to the UK over 20 years ago. It is such an uplifting and happy movie. Makes me smile and think of Christmas family time. I always sing along to all the songs; I know them all by heart!
What dish would you serve at a dinner party?
I love fish. Any fish, including pickled herrings.
If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
Cotswolds. I had a privilege to live there for many years prior to moving to London. It still melts my heart when I go back with its picturesque houses in a light stone, secret hideaways, lavender fields and delicious local foods.
What’s your most frequently used phrase or expression?
‘That is interesting.’ I am sponge for new knowledge, fascinated by new things I see, read, come across so I guess it stems from that.
How would your loved ones and friends sum you up in 3 words?
I had to ask my closest family and friends for a help on this.
Caring, passionate, hardworking.
Are you reading a book at the moment? If so which?
Secrets from Chuckling goat by Shann Nix Jones & corresponding Cookbook – a great true story of a high flying US radio talk show host who swapped all for a life on a farm in rural Wales, keeping goats. Now she has an award winning business making goat milk health products.
What’s your favourite smell?
Smell of bright yellow rape seed plants in a field just before harvest. Brings happy childhood memories.
What’s your favourite animal?
Elephant. They are majestic, beautiful animals and I believe they also bring good luck.
What is most important to you in life?
To care and help others. To go through life fulfilled, aspiring to achieve and have a focus in life to drive you forward. To not forget to enjoy the present moment.
